design for a cause

At House of Krauss, we believe in the power of design to drive positive social change. We find never-ending inspiration in the words of Mahatma Gandhi: “Be the change you wish to see in the world.”

It is humbling to work on an assignment that you know will have a huge social impact, especially in the lives of children. This is our 9th year designing and producing materials for Cuisine For A Cause.

The mission of Casa de Misericordia (House of Mercy) is to provide a safe, nurturing, God-centered home for the abused, neglected and homeless children in the northern Mexico city of Piedras Negras. Since opening in 2005, Casa de Misericordia has seen over 300 children pass through its doors. The children and caregivers of the orphanage rely on our continued support, as all of their funding comes from contributions from churches and individuals.

The 2017 Cuisine For A Cause will be held at Strongwater Food & Spirits (401 W. Town Street) on April 7 beginning at 6:00 pm. Please join us for this wonderful event, where you will enjoy great food and drinks, a terrific silent auction and the opportunity to have fun with friends and family – all for an amazing cause.

Otterbein University

We honor our past because it shapes our future.

Otterbein’s story begins in the mid-1800s, before the abolition of slavery, before the women’s rights movement, before equality and inclusion were rights. Otterbein was founded by the Church of the United Brethren in Christ in 1847. Those qualities built Otterbein to what it is today: a nationally recognized university offering bachelor and master degrees to a wide variety of students.

House of Krauss is proud to have been assisting Otterbein University with admissions recruiting for many years. Creative layouts, surprising images, and inspiring, accessible typography capture the inimitable Otterbein style. We loved working with this incredible team. STAND UP. STAND STRONG. STAND OUT. – Go Cards!

We worked to create a refined sense of style when developing imagery for Things Remembered. Elegant sets. Sumptuous lighting. A touch of wit. All the while being mindful of our new mantra – “The perfect gift is the joy you create.”
