actions speak louder than words

KingAvenue720px_72dpiSure, it would be nice if churches could operate on a wing and a prayer, but the cold hard fact is that it takes money, sometimes a lot of money, to keep things running smoothly. Built in 1922, King Avenue United Methodist Church is a beautiful old facility with a vibrant, progressive congregation. Not surprisingly, the combination of an aged building and visionary, compassionate parishioners requires a consistent, dependable stream of revenue.

But most churches and their staff excel at giving unto others. Asking for money? Not so much.

With that in mind, we were honored to take on the challenge of the Annual Giving Campaign for King Avenue UMC. We wanted our design to be as vibrant and ambitious as the parishioners. The Living It! theme and messaging work to reinforce the idea that the church building, the staff and the church family are living out King Avenue’s message of love and service 24/7 through numerous missions, relationships and outreach to the community.

Throughout the campaign, we made the people of the church and the numerous ways they were Living It! – both collectively and individually – the primary focus of our materials. The gentle reminder to all was that the full and generous spirit of King Avenue comes directly from the full and generous spirit of the people who are King Avenue.
